Jacklyn Zeman, the veteran actress who played the iconic role of Bobbie Spencer on the long-running soap opera «General Hospital,» has passed away at the age of 70. The news of her death was confirmed by the show's executive producer, Frank Valentini, on Twitter.

Zeman was a beloved member of the «General Hospital» and ABC family, having originated the role of Bobbie Spencer over 45 years ago. She appeared in over 800 episodes of the show, earning an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of the bad girl turned heroine.

In a statement, Valentini praised Zeman for her professionalism and positive energy, saying, «Just like her character, the legendary Bobbie Spencer, she was a bright light and true professional that brought so much positive energy with her to work.» The official Twitter page of the show also released a statement remembering Zeman for her lasting legacy and kind heart.

Zeman began her career as a dancer before transitioning to acting. She first gained attention in the soap opera world with a regular role on «One Life to Live» in 1977. That same year, she was cast as Bobbie Spencer on «General Hospital,» a role she continued to play for over 50 years.
