With the Lakers already struggling in the series, Davis' injury leaves their playoff hopes uncertain.

Los Angeles Lakers' star player Anthony Davis exited Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Golden State Warriors in a wheelchair after sustaining a head injury. With 7:34 left in the fourth quarter, Davis collided with Warriors center Kevon Looney as they both battled for a rebound off a missed layup by D'Angelo Russell. After being subbed out, Davis sat on the bench before being wheeled into the locker room with a towel over his head.


Reporters on the TNT broadcast noted that Davis' condition did not look good as he was wheeled out of the game. However, Lakers coach Darvin Ham provided a positive update after the game, stating that Davis was doing well. Despite Davis' 23 points on 10-of-18 shooting, the Lakers suffered a 121-106 loss to the Warriors, who now trail the series 3-2.

The Lakers will look to close out the series on Friday night at Crypto.com Arena in Game 6. While Davis' injury status is unclear at this point, the Lakers will need to step up in his absence if he is unable to play.
